Artist’s Notes:
This award was designed for the Atlanta Para Olympics in 2000. It was used as an award for the film festival that coincided with the Para Olympics. I tried to depict a figure that was rising out of a circular form at the base. The circular form represents a wheel chair. The figure is stretching forward as if crossing an imaginary finish line in a race. Its arms are thrown out to break the line and win the race.
